I need a windshield for my 2008 VStar 1100 Custom. I want one that is easily removeable. What do you guys have and where'd you get it?
Hello. I use the Switchblade from National Cycle on my 07 Custom. I have the Deflector model for around town (small one just for looks) and the Two Up full size windshield for out on the highway, The mounts stay attached to the bike and the windshield snaps on in seconds, works great! Was patient and bought each shield and mounting kit seperately on Ebay when I found a good bargain. Paid at least half the retail price. Good Luck!
I have the Memphis shades big shot which fades from black at the bottom to clear. It comes in many different colors or you can get it in all clear. It comes with fork mount quick release brackets which fit my 07 custom perfectly. I purchased it from motorcycle online store in 07 for $169.90.
I run a Memphis shades as well. It bolts on securely in about 2 minutes with four bolts. Two per side. It is the mid height smoke color. I can remove it in about 2 minutes also. It is quite rigid and secure. I would purchase another of this brand or recomend it to anyone.,L.B.
Another vote for the switchblade mount. Looks great and the windshield comes off and on easily. I have the "chopped windshield" from National Cycle. I am short (5'7) and it is the perfect size. I get no buffeting and good wind coverage. The funny thing is that I thought I would take it off more then I do, but I have grown to love having the windshield on the bike except for short slow rides in the middle of summer.
