My wife rode with me years ago when we were young but since we got older and had grandchildren I never thought she would ride again. A few years ago I decided to get another bike and she was dead set against it and vowed she would never ever ride again. About 3 years have gone by and to my amazement the other day she said hey I want to go for a ride on the bike !!! WELL
you could have knocked me over with a feather but naturally I said lets go! SHe didnt miss a beat and rides like an old pro. We went for a short ride the first time out and she loved it. From that day on all she does is watch the weather and says if its nice can we go on the bike. The next saturday we went for a 75 mile ride but it was an expensive one. Passenger floorboards,A new leather jacket, new river road boots, river road gloves and new chaps. I already had the helmet thank god, but it was all worth it now I ride with my bud. She hasnt broke the news to the kids but I guess they will just have to deal with it. I kept telling her she needed to step outside her comfort zone and start living and enjoy the simple things in life. and she did and I'm glad for once she took my advise. Hopefull we can enjoy a few more years of safe riding together. Life is to short spend time with the one you love and let the rest of the world kiss your ass.

Yep!
Much to my amazement, while shopping for my current bike my wife said she wants her own, it wouldn't have taken a feather to push me over when I heard that, I had a smile from ear to ear. She wants a Vic 8-ball and after her truck is paid off next year, we're going to start looking.
My wife too, is my favorite riding partner. I ride my V Star Classic, she rides her Honda DN-01. Generally every Sunday, it's out for breakfast, then a 150 mile ride. She's great to ride with!
I recently suggested my soon to be wife take the MSF course. She rides with me all the time and I thought it would be good for both of us for her to have the MSF course under her belt, even if she doesn't get a license out it. It's been 3 weeks since we signed up for it and she keeps telling me how excited she is to learn to ride. I'll know in two weeks if I'm looking for a bike for her. She talked me into taking it and this will be the 2nd time I'm taking it but it shouldn't hurt me any, except for the $538 I have to shell out for both of us to take it. Anyway, enjoy the ride as fall is upon us and it's getting cold fast.
She hasn't broke the news to the kids but I...
Just suit up and ride over to their house
I really enjoy having the wife ride with me as well. She recently bought an '08 Honda Shadow and has been on it a few time but is still waiting on the MSF course.
Have fun and Ride Safe
I envy you people. My S.O. refuses to go anywhere near my bike because when she was eighteen she went for a ride with her boyfriend and the chowder head popped a wheelie to impress her without warning her about the move and she badly burnt her leg on the exhaust pipe.
She hasn't been on a motorcycle since nor will she ever get on one again, and believe me that was along time ago.
So I've resigned myself to the fact that I will be in the company of others when I ride; pity.
My wife loves to go for a ride. I think she gets more excited then me. She doesn't want to learn to ride for herself though. I think this is because she never learned to drive a manual transmission and is to afraid/embarressed to learn now.
that's one of the best stories i've heard in a while... i wish you the best on the many trips to come.

Good for her!
My wife also rides her own. Honda VLX-600. Sometimes she rides with me. It's great....We enjoy rode to Gettysburg, PA in July, Ocean City,MD in Sept, and over Labor day we rode to Balinerjohns backyard. We stayed in Dingmans Ferry.. The next day we rode north on 97 along the Delaware River. It was beautiful. We stopped at Hawks Nest and watched a Bald Eagle as he flew over the river.......

The grandkids will love having a biker grandma.
My wife also loves to ride with me, even on the pillion of a Custom! She has no desired to learn herself...I've asked her a couple of times if she wants to learn...just wants to be with me. We got he a Lady Rider Helmet and facemask, and we just go whenever she wants. Nothing better than heading out for a date just by ourselves and leave the kids at home now that they're old enough.
Hey zgreiker, come take the class in Texas...it's only $199 here!
Y'all ride safe, watch out for cagers on cell phones, and thank The Man Upstairs for every safe ride.
After ten years of marriage, my best friend finally gave me the nod to get a bike. I do not work a normal 9-5 job and have many days that I am off while the kids are at school. If the sun is shining we go for a ride (even if it is a short one)! Here is a pic of her getting ready to steal my bike....she wants her own and has called about a couple!
by the looks of it you already lost your ride lol
so what are you buyin for yourself then
oh nice pics as well

My wife was dead set against me riding again, too, for a long time. She sees the scars from "the big one" every day. But, like you, for reasons known only to her, she not only decided it was ok for me to ride again, she joined in! I LOVE riding with my wife and do it whenever we can. She doesn't like to "drive" the bike, but she got her license and took an MSF course, just to be on the safe side. But she does love to ride.
My daughter (35) still isn't happy we started riding again, but she copes.
dahudch, gotta agree with our mate tunc there...by the smile on her face, what are you getting? Get a Warrior before they're gone! Noticed it's absent from Star's 2010 lineup like the 1100!
Double sad day for us!
Both a Warrior and Stratoliner are on my wish list, but I'll always keep my 1100! Was Love at First Bike for me and is too much fun to ride.
flakkerbhil, glad your wife is back on with you.
I think we have special wives...mine has said many times that, while she knows and understands the potential danger to us, the wonderful difference beginning to ride has made in me is worth the potential, and she knows I don't take stupid chances and do what I can to ride as safely as possible. She's told me many times that she feels very safe with me when we go two-up because she sees the measures I take. I also try to explain things to her so she knows what I'm doing and why, which helps a lot.
Safe riding to you and yours...
Hey guys thanks for all the replys, its good to see people who still appreciate spending time with their significant other and orpie the next time your in the Dingmans Ferry area let me know the hawks nest area is my stomping grounds

My wife has been riding with me for the past 2 years and she really loves it.
about 2 months ago she told me she wanted a bike of her own.
i bought a 1999 honda rebel 250. ( great little bike) and since my wife is a little short in the legs the rebel fits her.
last weekend she passed the MSF course and got the endorsment.
now i have a live in riding partner and am lovin every minute of it.
