Are the 650 and 1100 classic wheels the same? I would like to trade my spokes for some mags.
    Thanks

I want to know about this too since I want to get dual front rotors off the 1100 and a rear disc brake instead of drum.

I looked at the specs on the Star sit and they have the same Size rear and front but as to wether the rear end/drive shaft stuff is compatible, thats a different question all together.

the front is close. You will end up with a second rotor if you change it. the back can not be done because it's a drum.

Has anyone done this conversion? Does anyone know?
    Thanks

The use of the search feature on the forum will give you your answers.

It CAN NOT be done ECONOMICALLY.

From the loks of things, to do the rear wheel swap, one would need a rear swing arm off an 1100 and the rear pedal assembly along with the master cylinder and res., the lines, rear caliper and rotor. Sounds like a lot, but I think if you were to find a front totalled 1100, you could get everything you would need! I might just do this and slowly piece it all together and try it out.

The drive shafts are different. It will not work at all for the rear.

Look under some of the old posts. This was brought up before and someone had priced out a set of mags and 1,000 each because of the rear drum. Good luck

I saw on the 650 CC&D forum recently that someone got a set of old mag wheels from a Virago 750 and was able to move the hardware over and make it work. That might be an option. I personally don't think it's worth it, but if your heart is set on new wheels.
