This is the time of the year to get some of those "Wish List" things done to the bike. Just curious what kinds of winter modifications everyone is planning.

I've got some things up my sleeve....

    What do YOU have planned???

Santa will be bringing some passenger floor boards, and hopefully some Cobra Slashcut exhaust pipes.... A set of mustang seats would be nice too...

I'm also looking into some bar risers as well.

I am working on putting a fairing on my bike and plan on ordering some hardbags although I haven't decided which yet. We will see how the winter goes maybe add handle bars risers and a pod kit.

I'm in the four corners area. Less then an hour from Colorado, Arizona or Utah.

I am planning on getting a nice, comfortable studded mustang seat.
Though I havent figured out if I want the one with the driver backrest or not.
    Any suggestions?
Other than I want to get the chrome floorboard covers, studded windshield bag, studded fender extenders, and maybe different saddlebags. I have been looking at the studded ameritex saddlebags (part#ATEX-8805RVT)
and leatherlyke bags. Well if any of you get a chance to take a look at the ameritex saddlebags let me know what you think about them.
    later,
    JJ

We're having a Meet and Greet from another V Star 1100 forum in Cloudcroft in mid June...some really good people...(it's close to Metric Magic Tim B's place)..... I also get over that way from time to time....

(graciously apologizes to myself for hijacking my thread...)

Tim B (Metric Magic) is in the middle of making some really nice backrests that would fit with the mustang seat no problem....figuring they will run about $170 - $180. So if you get a seat without the backrest, you'll still be able to get one from Tim at a very good price....

Keep your eyes on the "Star Parts and Trade" Forum at Delphi... you might be able to get some good deals on used wish list stuff....I'm always checking there..

OK My List ... so far

Under Tank Quiet Pods - DIY
    Install Tim's knurled PMS Screws
Carb re-jet, solenoid needles clipped, wells drilled
Build velocity stack carb covers for both sides after Hypercharger removal
    Remove and paint Thugstar pipes
    New front tire
    Rebuild starter
Finish "59 Caddy" tin set - prep and paint
12" 1 1/2" Apes with new cables (if I can afford the cables)
    Aftermarket headlight - and rewire
    Install oil pressure gauge
Build fiberglass rear mud flap for my Classic rear fender - to be covered in leather
    General maintenance throughout......
and a bunch more my feeble mind can't remember.

Hey Mick why are you getting rid of the hyper charger ? Is it for looks or performance? Bruce

    Bruce

It's for performance and a change in look.

I rode a windy section of highway a few months back and the bike kept cutting out because of the way the wind was hitting the Hypercharger. I didn't like that.... and because the pod set up gives better performance and it's easier to dial in the carbs.

I may put it back on just for looks someday....but I'll not connect it back up to the air box again.

Right now I just want a different look. Working on "faux" dual velocity stack air filters to hang out each side of the bike too.... they won't be connected, but I'm hoping they turn out cool. I'll put up pics when I get working on it.
