Hello Everyone. I have the stock pipes that i drilled out some holes in the rear. It sounds ok but i would really like some pipes. Problem is that I dont know anyone who has a raider that i can listen to. I live in Santa Ana, CA (orange county) If anyone lives out here that would allow me to visit and listen to their pipes i would greatly appreciate it. Also if there are any pipes out there that you recommend more than others I would love the feedback.
    Thanks
    John

Call around to dealerships and there will probably be some options you can listen to. I have only heard the stock and the Cobra swept version. I am getting the Cobras. No question. Cobrausa.com has some clips of what the pipes sound like but unfortunately they didn't include a clip of the stock to compare.

I have Cobra Swepts, love the looks and the sound. V&H will make a bit more power, but i like the looks of the Cobra. Poke aroun on here there are plenty of old threads that talk about them all.

I've got the V&H Big Radius. Looks great, sounds great and unmatched performance. I would suggest you check out the site www.raiderperformance.com. It is a must site for a Raider owner. You will be able to check the write ups on exhuasts and much more. Also check out the dyno reports for performace of different exhaust, and/or air kit, and or fuel manager. They have exhaust sound clips too.

V&H 'Big Radius' are great pipes....A few of us have used the SuperTrapp slip-on (you'll hear debate on whether to keep the EXUP valve) I kept mine. However if I had to choose a complete exhaust system I'd choose the V&H 2into1 'Big Radius...PEACE/RIDE SAFE

I just recently got the V&H big radius 2 into 1's
Power increase is noticeable, the sound is great.
The best way I can verbally describe the sound would be....
kind of a thundering in a giant barrel. It has a low echo rumble to them.
Very cool! Plus, when you crack the throttle, the sound really "cracks" too!

    I'm really pleased with them.
I didn't go with the Cobras for my own reasons. The stock pipes are much thicker in diameter, so to me the Cobras looked a bit skinny. Plus, without other modifications, it's pretty well accepted that a 2 into 1 will increase power, unlike a 2 into 2 which may lose a hp or 2.
I love the giant tip at the end.
It's called Big Radius for a reason! Very beefy looking pipes!
Bonus was, they didn't cover up my rear wheel so you can finally see my chromed stock wheels!

That 2into1 is sweet I have to say. I am leaning towards the Cobra Dragsters however. Just like the way they look to me. Seems to fit the sceem. Plus, I will have room for larger saddlebags. Maybe even hard bags.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the dragsters have the power chamber which means you could be losing HP and TQ.
I'm not using saddlebags on mine. I will run two or three decent road trips per season and I'm going to use the Kuryakyn Grantour and the Tombstone bags. These bags will hold as much, maybe more than the saddlebags and they will only be on my bike when needed. When my wife is with me the Grantour will do for overnighters or weekend trips, which is all my wife is up for. For cruising around town I will use a smaller sissy bay bag that lets me pack what I need. I just didn't want the saddlebags.

I would probably go bagless if I only rode for fun. I ride the RedRaider to work and since I work at a prison with inmates working around the parking lot, I have to have a way to secure my jacket and etc. If they wear my jacket or stuff to escape in then I am in for it. I was leaning towards the bags that lock on, however, I just don't think they would hold up day after day in this 120+ sun.

The bags I mentioned velcro to the bike at the sissy bar, When I'm road tripping I just remove them and take them inside.

I got the sound and the look I wanted with the Cobra dragsters. I did like the stock pipes just didn't like the heat shields and they were not loud enough.

I watch some vids and listened to some sound clips and read some reviews. I've decided to go with the V&H big radius.

When it comes to making your bike sound the best it can, and to add hp and tq, I have found that Vance and Hines have worked the best. Makes no difference if your bike is a Yamaha or something else V & H seem to be the best all around. After them I would go with Hd Hard Krome Sideburners 2 into 1, or Roadburner Pro Velocity 2 into 1.

Hey Squando good decision on going with the V&H 2-1 you wont be disappointed; I have put about 2000 miles on my bike with the V&H 2-1 and a PCIII and no complaints

Thanks for all your imput guys. I went with the cobra speedster slash cut. They sound great. Going to remove the baffles for a louder sound.

Buy anything but Hard Khrome or Road Burner they're not backing up their Warranty. See my post with my experience with them.
