Bell Mag 8: Great helmet for here in FL - can ride with the multiple position shield in the up or down position, or anywhere in between. This would not be a good choice when riding without a windshield - - would be too much wind pushing against its very useful extended visor.

Mine's the Shoei RF1000. That thingie on the back of it (in my avatar) is a wireless L.E.D. brake light.

    Cheers,

I have the HJC CL-Max from Helmet City in Candy Red (the fast color). Matches the bike very well. This is a flip up design. This one was $170 online.

A also have a 3/4 I got at the dealer - I think its a Bell. This one was about $175 if I recall.

I myself have the Scorpion Solid 100. I particularly like the retractable shield that hides away when not in use. Very neat feature.

Now I just need that V Star 1300 to go with it. Hopefully it'll be just a couple more weeks.

BTW: first time poster here. I've lurked for a while. I also post on Delphi forums. Although I cannot stand the interface there. I much prefer vBulletin. We need to pull some of those folks over here!

Scorpion Exo 400 "Octane". Love it, but I need the chin skirt for when it gets cold up here. Took it to TN, and I didn't have any problem riding in the heat with it, although I did have to try out the evaporative cooling liner a couple times.

Depends on the weather and my mood I have a half (CL21), three quarter (CL31) and full (CL SP) helmets All made by HJC. Its the only brand that will fit my extra extra extra large dome

HJC Symax (flip-up front) mostly. It has ear phone recesses and I like the full face protection. The only downer is in the heat of Summer, even with the face shield up, it can be somewhat warm. I'll probably get a 1/2 style this Summer. Kinda like the looks of the one Kramer has pictured here.

TSdar tell me about it. I'm '6"2 250 with a size 8 hat, and that still leaves red line on my forehead. Icon xxl fits perfect, and AFX xl fits well without making look like a freakin bobblehead.

I wear a size 7 5/8 hat and went with an XXL Arai RX7-Corsair Hayes Jolly Roger. It fit very nicely and it is nicely vented so you don't overheat while on long rides!

I can only use sun glasses underneath the helmet for about 30 minutes then I get these pressure headaches. Most of the time I'm using goggles underneath the half and three quarter helmets.

I've got a Shoei RF-1000 in Metallic Silver

After I got over the tighter fit the first week or so (pulling it on and off made my ears hurt a bit), it became much more comfortable.

I've recently had to start wearing my glasses permanently instead of my contacts, so the ear piece cut-outs are extremely nice!

i use a carbon fiber half helmet made by ACC. it's the lightest dot approved helmet on the market. N.C. helmet law went into effect Jan. 1. novelty helmet are no longer legal. bought at the helmet shop in daytona fl. they shipped the same day i ordered, but there is a waiting list for this helmet now. my friend tried to order and there is a 6 week wait. it weighs less than 2 pounds. i tried going back to my full face helmet during cold weather. decided i had rather eat the COLD!!

I just picked up a Bell Mag 8. I really like that you can have a visor and a shield at the same time. Plus with a leather do rag on this helmet fit me better than other I have tried.

Also use a fullface scorpion octane 400- no fog shields are great just wash off the bugs and you forget your wearing it.My son got me some biker sunglasses, and I tried em out without a helmet on the slab for @ 5 miles--coulndt stop laughing-it was great but I insist on allways wearing atleast a fullface helmet, gloves, and a jacket .
