I saw a Kawi Mean Streak on a lot a couple of weeks ago.. Liked it. Low seat. Hardly been used. Pretty good buy. Well, I've now found several to consider for a second bike. I want a second bike for a day cruise, evening summer ride, short-hop cruiser. Not looking for a wind screen or tourer. Just a ride.

I like my Yami, so I want to know why I should can the Meanie and pick up a used Warrior. Or Raider. I've had two mechanics tell me to stay with Yamaha. You Warrior riders: tell me why. I frankly don't like the stock Warrior...maybe the exhaust? What is that huge oil barrel attached to the exhaust?!?!

I want a used bike. The Raider is probably too new to get a good price. Love the look! I REALLY am not into showing off and speed is not too important. I just want a "different" ride. What do you think???

    Thanks,

I would forget the Mean Streak. The problem is it is not very mean when compared to the Warrior or Raider.
I owned a Warrior and it is a great bike. The stock exhaust is ugly, but if you are buying a used bike the exhaust will probably be replaced already. If not there are some nice after market exhaust available. Also very easy to add a few performance mods. If you haven't you should check out rswarrior.com. You'll find all kinds of info and some used bikes for sale.
I now own a Raider and it would be a great choice too, but you a right in thinking the best buys would be with a Warrior since the Raider is so new. You might consider getting a Raider or Warrior and selling your 1300.
    This is my '03 Warrior.

The 1300 stays!!! The Warrior generally seems to be more expensive than comparable Mean Streaks. You probably pinpointed the reason. Unless someone hands me a cheap Raider, that's out. I'll look at more Warriors. Thanks, kman. And nice bike there.

Chaz When you find a bike make sure it is not too comfortable or your short ride will turn into a long all-day affair. I know from experience!

HA-HA!!! Thanks. Really, truely, I should be hunting down the worst bike out there, then! If someone wants to hand me the keys to a fast red Raider, I'm on it. If they expect me to pay full price---different story. Speed is not too important to me. I only need it to pass the big rigs and slow pokes in the wrong lane. I'm a good little boy

    I want a V-Max for a second ride.

If the next Bar is within a 1/4 mile, you can get there in 10 seconds.

Alright, I can line this up for ya...
    I ride a Warrior.
Buddy rides a "Meanie". The meanie is quiet. in every sense. Acceleration=slow, cornering=heavy, shifting=clunky.
My Warrior is, in my totally unbiased opinion, the best bike ever built on the face of the earth.
ok, maybe its a stretch but ya catch my point.
The Warrior can be modified easily. Exhaust, Air Intake, PCIII,etc... all can be done at home by you. The Meanie's got that dang shaft drive makes any repairs to the rear end a pain in the read end.
Warriors handle like a dream, cornering is just SWELL!
Shifting is smooth with that belt drive and all, and the acceleration...lets just say with simple mods it gives the raiders a real quick "Hows yo Momma"!
Then if you corner against a Raider....its over.
For a customizable light weight ride that you can whip around town, find yourself a nice Warrior.
You will only look back to see who you just passed!
    yeah, I like Warriors!

just buy one more 1300. all the speed you need, corners great and you can pick them up for cheep. you can drop it to the ground slap on some mods and a big fat tire and you have your new ride. just my opinion. good luck.

It's quick, it handles, and it gets the no no parts all wet on the opposite sex...
