Has anyone used a Scorpion helmet? I am thinking of getting a new helmet. I currwntly use an HJC full face, and looking to get a new and quieter fullface helmet in an HJC Carbon or Scorpion EXO400/700/1000. The Scorpion helmets say they are quiet. Idon't know anyone that has a Scorpion helmet. Thanks for any and all advice.

Though you don't ask, I have a Scorpion EXO 100, which is a half helmet. It has a very cool drop-down visor and is good to about 65, when you start to feel a little buffeting but more is it pulls up. Not the best for higher speeds.

I had a former co-worker who had a 1000 and loved it. Only helmet I ever saw him wear. He rode a Suzuki 600-something crotch rocket and ATGATT. It's also a very nice helmet.

Don't think you can go wrong with a Scorpion...very highly rated and regarded...lotta helmet for the money, from what I can tell.

Most of the folks I ride with have either Shoei or Scorpions. Both brand owners seem pretty darn enthusiastic about their helmets.
I have a Shoei 3/4 and thought it was really comfy. My hubby's modular Shoei was an upgrade from an HJC full face, and he said the difference in noise level was remarkable. I can understand. I had an AC-12 ff HJC and it was rather noisy as well. I'm gathering from our experiences and another lady rider's that HJC is just a very noisy brand all around. My current ff is a Bell, and I can't comment on noise yet. It is very comfy, however.

I wore a Scorpion when I rode sport bikes. They are quiet...you really can't go wrong for the price.

If you go to motorcyclesuperstore.com they have reviews for the helmets at the bottom of the page on each helmet they have on sale . Go to the close outs first to get the best deals.

I have the Scorpion EXO 900 Transformer helmet. It is a modular helmet that converts to 3/4. The helmet also has the hidden sun shield and a pump that puts air in the lining for a perfect fit. The helmet is very quiet and very well made. I think it is a great value and would buy one again if I needed to. The only draw back is when I bought mine, they only made 3 colors. Dull gray, gloss light gray and gloss black. The last catalog I saw at the stealers showed more colors now.

I have an EXO700 and can say it is the best fitting and most comfortable helmet I have had. My Nolan was a bit quieter, but I love this helmet.

When I was at the Edmonton Motorcycle Show last month we went to the Arai booth where he fitted me for a helmet. He said that Arai's are quiet. But $800 for a helmet!? What do others think of the Arai for quietness and other features?

Depending on what you're looking for...price and selection or quality...I've found motorcycle superstore has the best deals, even right now on Shoei and Arai. You can get some for around $250 or less. If it's clothes, I think Competition Accessories has the best deals. Sometimes the two are very close...depends on shipping...I compared a jacket once and the price difference with shipping was one cent. But both offer free shipping for orders over $100, I believe.

My ff is a SparX Griffin. It has vents in the visor like an Arai but I wouldn't say it's the quietest helmet and the breath deflector deflect my breath right up into my glasses. Also can't close the upper vents but it works for me. Got it on sale at a Yamaha dealer last April or May for $75, about half off. One good thing with it, though, is it came with dark smoke and clear visors. The visor vents really help in the Texas heat.

I know you didn't ask about it but I wear an Arai full face. It is very quiet and comfortably fits my egg shaped head. They are expensive but an Arai open face helmet saved my life about 10 years ago. My head hit first and I walked away from the hospital.
