Has anyone installed "Teflon-lined" throttle cables?
    Any comments, good, bad?
Where would you find this type of cable?
    Is the cost astronomical?

The plastic piece inside of my throttle grip (that holds the ends of the throttle cables) broke into several pieces this afternoon, due to the lack of enough lubrication on the cables that were attached to it.

I read that "Teflon-lined" cables require NO lubrication ever. Adding lubrication to this type of cable is actually detrimental to the life of the cable.

I do not want to have another lube problem with my cables. If I like the Teflon throttle cables, I'll probably end up switching out the clutch & choke cables, too.

So far, I have found one place that makes the Teflin cables.

I will keep looking, and post whatever else I find.

I found another place, and their prices look pretty good...

They make theirs for off-road bikes.
I guess they don't want any dirt mixing with any greasy lubricants.

    I just called them.
    If course, they are closed.
I'll try them again on Friday to see if they would possibly have my lengths.

I'll keep checking on it, and keep y'all posted.

I can't believe how many companies I am finding.
I don't know if these will fit either.

Wow...good job.... I've not tried teflon cables on the bike, still have the originals. I've used them on my 125cc race kart and they work great for that application....

Even if these companies don't make cables for my bike, as long as they have the length that I need (and the fittings), I'll be in business. I've noticed that some of the companies also sell the cables in different colors and materials. Maybe I'll find what I need in a SS braided cable.

The people over at mapcycle said that their cables are soooo good, that you can put three knots in one of theirs, and STILL be able to slide the cable through. I sent them a few pics of what the fittlings on mine look like. All I'm waiting on now, is word back from them, telling me that they can or can't build what I need. (They build the cables right there, in the store.)

    I'll keep you updated.
