Just got back from a small road trip from west Houston, Texas to Simonton, then through Brookshire, Hempstead, Navasota, stopping at Yankee Tavern in Carlos, Texas, before turning around to head back home.

(We also passed by "Thirsty Parrot" in Monaville, Texas, but we didn't stop there. It looked like it was packed, but we were trying to get to Yankee Tavern. Maybe next time.)

If any of you Texas riders out there haven't been to Yankee Tavern, you may want to check them out. They are just north of the intersection of Hwy. 30 & FM 244.

My brother and his friends stop in there, but all of my rides with him have never taken us near there.

They have a 1/2 pound hamburger that is pretty good.
And they also had a good sized lot for parking.

We saw all kinds of bikes there.
So, whatever you ride, if you are in the area, stop in.

Well, I am jealous. Sunny, cold and a foot of snow up here.

Keep them coming everyone. I can see a light at the end of this tunnel we call a Canadian winter. At least the sun is up when I go to and from work now.

Wow Moxxi that sounds like a heck of a ride. next time you do that, when you leave navasota, shoot down to Tomball and cut over to Conroe. There is a little joint over there called the Blue Door. It has a blue door on the front and they roll up the garage doors on each side in the summer. You will see a lot nice bikes there too and can get some prety good BBQ to boot. If you make a weekend of it, ride up to lake Travis and take the road on the north side headed to Marble Falls. That is a beautiful ride.

I thought I had it in my profile. I guess I forgot to apply it.

I live in southwestern Ontario, Canada.

And yes it is still cold and too much snow on the ground.

    That sounds like a plan.
    Thanks for the info.
