so I would like to switch out my exhaust to an aftermarket full pipe to get a gain of torque before I upgrade bikes again next year. Right now I have the cobra slash cut slip-ons for my v star 1100 silverado. They sound great but um looking for alittle bit deeper and louder noise along with maybe some torque gain. I've been researching and really like the Samson exhaust design.

Does anyone have Samson pipes and what do you recommend.

Will they sound any better than slip-on cobra exhaust, will I gain torque, and what is the difference between the long pipe (to the back of tire) verses the short pipe (to maybe halfway across the tire). Also I see that there are the choice between legend, warlord, and interceptor series.

    Any thoughts?

I don't know anything about the Samson pipes, specifically, but when I was shopping for my pipes I was advised by a number of exhaust "specialists" (i.e. Salespeople), that the longer pipes give the deepest sound. It makes sense to me and I can verify that, on my other bike (which has shorter drag-style pipes) the sound is much more raspy or "tinny" sounding. Good luck in your search.
