I understand what your saying about the heat stroke...that's why its worth lookin into the mesh jackets. When living in scottsdale years ago I would never go anywhere without a mesh jacket riding. Also don't think that hitting the ground at 70+mph is only gonna scrape up your bare arms. I've seen not only skin but a crap load of muscle ripped right off guys shoulders at the attachment points. Muscle tissue is irreplacable, loose too much and you won't be able to ride let alone use your arm.
70?!! Oh no I never go 70!! ha-ok ok point taken

Stay Cool and protected ass-less chaps and a leather vest. Worst case senario diaper rash and scraped up arms. LOL
Well I dunno. I've been working really hard on my ass at the gym and would hate to see it all end up on the highway. All that hard work down the highway drains...

Maybe, ultimately, vanity is my real reason for wearing ATGATT. I would hate to see all the $$$ I've spent on maintaining my body (not plastic surgery tho )...go down the road gutter.... Us Biker Chic Fashionistas need to keep up our image. Right VTC!?

On a serious note, there are so many threads that debate ATGATT and personal rights, that I'm not getting involved in this one. And I'd have SushiBiker after me again....

ATGATT is a personal choice. I do agree, but I would be debunked if I didn't mention that right now I sit here with road rash on both my arms because I just had a t-shirt on and my legs are fine because I had sliders jeans on. And thank god I took the full face helmet for my ride. It got scraped. but protected my head completely. When I can ride again, it will be ATGATT for me going forward.

Seriously, I like my skin, I like my face, and I can't bear the thought of drinking through a straw... so gear it is! The fear of negatively altering beauty is a HUGE motivator. HA!

I told my mom when I bought my first bike (yes, she is so cool she even came with me to pick it up) that I bought a FF helmet because her and pops spent so much on my mouth in braces alone that I promised to protect it. She was just so happy I intended to wear a helmet at all, considering her and dad were the t-shirt, shorts & shorty helmet folks (when we had helmet laws). Oh yeah, dad even had a pic in the newspaper riding like that - but then again, his "'fro" could have been easily mistaken for a helmet anyway, lol!!! Ugh! Fashionista has spoken.

LOL! I was told that in Europe all the women ride (bikes and scooters) with high heels. Not sure about hiked up skirts and thongs tho......Anyone been to Europe to atest to this????

Just make sure you cover up with your leathers....could be dangerous

I would have to agree with you on this. I see so many people riding without any type of protective gear(other than a helmet). It just doesn't make sense.

I myself find America to be a great place. You can ride pretty much anyway you want, with the exception of legislators passing helmet laws. So when you talk about the freedom of choice of how, or what you wear while riding your bike, just remember we all do things differently. Not that I wear shorts, tank tops, or sandals when riding, but I sure don't wear my leathers all the time either, and probably never will. Yes, freedom is such a good thing............

I agree, so long as you're willing to accept the consequences of your actions and not demand a hand-out from the taxpayers to clean up your mess after you smear yourself all over the highway.
