I agree with you, the raider is great as it stands, but some of us what to make it our own, "me", so it is a little different than the stock raider. Plus it is fun for me to mod a little. ( not as much as Ohiomike though, I don't plan on putting that much money into mine <at the moment>)

yeah really...i love my black raider just the way it is!!!...just going to do pipes and the bike looks better than any bike out there...no need to do anything to it!!!........you can put all the chrome and crap on them and it makes no difference ...it is still gonna smoke anything out there!!!..no matter how much money ya put in to it!! if i wanted to spend all that money i would have bought a harley!!!!!..to me, personally..i think 80% of the bike owners are into the bike night thing not really riding alot...lots of show and no go!!...the raider looks just fine the way it is!!!

MY 120ci KIT WILL BE ALL GO.. I do a bike night maybe twice a year and todate have never entered a Bike contest event. I just like to MOD.. Thats why I buy motorcycles.. Make them better in my eyes and give it my highlights.. I only ride about 5000 miles a year and probably spend more time with the wrench than in the seat.. There BOTH fun to me.. Anyone who critises me can kiss my A$$ after they get off the ground.. Its my Hobbie, its what I like to do and I can afford it. I can't stand when people tell me how to live my life, what I should or shouldn't have bought or what I shouldn't do.. Its my bike.. I hope you all enjoy your motorcycle for what it does for you and can't wait to see pics or hear stories of your adventures.. Its all good.. The end..

Hey Mike, I just want to say that your bike looks awsome and I have bought a few mods for my bike after seein what they looked like on yours. I love my Raider but I am personalizing it. If a bunch of us were hanging out, I want to be able to say yep this is mine. I did the same thing with my Truck, and my Mustang, and my Hummer....you get the picture. It's called to each their own. I'm like Mike as I have the money to spend, I'm gonna do what I want and if someone wants to try to tell me what I should or shouldn't do, they will be pickin their teeth off the ground. I am 6'3 270 and full of piss and gasoline!

But ask my friends and they'll tell ya that I would do anything for them in a heartbeat. Ride safe guys and gals, so you can live to tell us about it!

Its a man thing. You gotta change it to make it better, more speed, more power, more gooder stuff. Its all part of the game. They manufacture this stuff so that you can change out everything and spend more money. Its all a conspiricey if you didnt know it by know. Thats what makes the world go round. If we didnt change the parts out to custom stuff, the world as we know it would crumble. Kaos would surrond us, pandamonium would break out around the world, it would be the end of days. It would be the demise of civilization as we know it.
We have to continue this practice to keep everything in balance. If we dont, global warming will destroy half of the world and El Ninio will get the other half. This is bigger than most realize.
I hope this helps to bring everything back into perspective for you. Now go out and modify, change and enhamce that ride.
By the way, this is only for the Raider, the other bikes have no affect on world peace, global warming or the infrastructure of civilization as we know it.

I don't think I have ever met a biker that didn't do something to change the bike to make their own.

I had no idea that what I first wrote would bring so much attention. I love every bit of it and everybodys stories. Now, I do need your help. If by chance you hear of a TURBO or a SUPERCHARGER coming out for the RAIDER, please post it for all to know.
I have NEVER,, been beat by that peace of American junk yet and have no intentions of it ever happening.
The difference from little boys toys and big boys toys is the $$$$$$$$$$$$ and, oh yes, you ladies are included.

I will be doing the 120CI kit.. Basically a Big bore from 113 to 120CI with headwork, ported exhaust.. Numbers will be115-120 HP and 140-150 TQ. If you want a Turbo Patrick Racing in California can do it.. About $6000. Nitrous is a real easy mod for an extra 30 to 50 HP on demand/. Fuel injection (pc3) makes it relatively safe.. I have buddie who has it on his warrior and is constantly going through 10 lb tanks trying to keep up with me on my racer..

    This off olivers site..

Its a stratoliner same set up as Raider

    Wet Nitrous for the Stratoliner/Roadliner
    admin | 10 July, 2006 00:03
The FXLiner comes with a computer controlled wet Nitorus system that makes an extra 45 hps at the push of a button. The system is based on a NOS car setup. Out of the 4 cylinder version only 2 sets of nozzles were needed for the VTwin. The setup was fabricated around the Patrick Racing HiFlo Big Airkit. The installation required to custom drill and tap both intake manifolds for the NOS Fogger nozzles. They inject the Nitrous/Fuel mixture directly into the intakes of the cylinder heads. They are positioned to be almost in line with the open butterflies of the throttle bodies to minimize flow resistance. The Fogger nozzles are fed by steel pressure lines that had to be routed around the Patrick Racing HiFlo Big Air Kit as well as the throttle bodies and other required hoses and brackets. The Patrick Racing HiFlo Big Air Kit actually made the installation of the wet nitrous much easier than with the stock airbox. (As always click the images to see the full size 1024 versions of all shots)
So how does the Wet Nitrous setup get controlled? As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, the activation happens through the stock SELECT and RESET buttons on the handlebars. Their stock functions get disabled once the nitrous has been armed with a hidden switch behind the NOS gauge. While armed a bright red LED indicates the readiness to fire. Then and only then the handlebar buttons are redirected to control the NOS setup. When disarmed the buttons go back to their stock functions. This is made possible through a 4 pole On-On-On switch that re-wires those buttons to control some automotive relays that activate the NOS injection. These relay switches are located under the seat of the Stratoliner / Roadliner in front of the rear fender. These relay switches activate the injection solenoids (SELECT) as well as the purge valve (RESET). The purge valve allows to purge trapped gases inside the Nitrous lines to guarantee a perfect first shot. It is also helpful when the bottle needs to be disconnected and high pressure NO2 is still inside the feed lines. The purge valve leads into a pressure line that runs down the rear fender and exists in between the swing-arm and the rear tire. When activated a cloud of frozen air and liquid Nitrous exits the line below the bike. So how is the entire setup controlled? Those buttons are fun to use but it would be a rather dangerous setup. Injecting large amounts of Nitrous and Fuel into an engine while at part throttle or at a low rpms can cause catastrophic engine failure. In simple installations a micro switch is used enable the injection only when full throttle is reached. It still allows for the NOS to be injected too early. Long story short the Wet Nitrous setup for the FXLiner is controlled by an onboard computer. A Dynojet Wideband Commander is in charge of making the Nitrous setup safe and reliable. The Wideband Commander enables the measurement of Air / Fuel ratio and various other engine parameters. In addition to measuring them it allows to program an output - in this case to control the Nitrous injection. It is setup to active the Nitrous above 3000 rpm and as long as the AF ratio stays below 13.5:1, as well as the throttle being at at least 98%. If any one of these parameters go outside of their setup ranges the Nitrous injection is aborted. The wideband commander also comes with an AF gauge that displays the current AF ratio between 10:1 and 18:1. More on the Wideband Commander and how to use it to do perfect custom maps for a Power Commander in a future article. After all the initial testing was concluded it was time to take the Liners for its first Hot Run. The Nitrous injection works perfectly fine. The engine takes the extra power without hesitation. Acceleration is very hard and puts most sports-bikes to shame. Makes for a nice surprise for some riders out there. The 2 lbs bottle seems to have enough juice in it for a while of fun. The only issue that requires further attention is the stock clutch. In high gears it does not hold up with the extra torque developed by the engine with the help of the Nitrous. There is considerable slippage. The clutch will get a stiffer spring and some minor modifications in the coming days. I will post the results shortly thereafter. I enjoy riding my bike and take a few road trips every year. Nothing like riding down the highway just you and your bike. I also enjoy modding, I want my bike to be to look the way I want. I like it when other riders are checking out my bike when a bunch of Harleys are hanging around. I own a Warrior not a Raider, but the same goes for both. I do like the Raider.

By the way if you want to see a hellova Warrior, go to rswarrior.com and look up Ohiomike.

Just sort of curious how you guys pay the speeding tickets you get after modding a bike that already goes way beyond the speed limit.
Picked mine up Saturday and took a ride that afternoon. Wow what a ride. Smooth and so balanced. Ran it up a little in third and looked down and saw 70 mph. Does anyone sell a governor for these bikes? ;-)

I have no idea how I am going to keep that bike under 55. It just "wants" to go faster. And I only have 25 miles on the damn thing.

Keep sending those mod pics. Love 'em. Personally the biggest "mod" I am considering for mine is a sexy lady on the back. I will load some pics when I get that done. ;-)

once i get over the speed limit i just close my eyes and let her rip ......
    they cant see you then

you dont really have to do any mods to have that problem as we know

WOW! Hope I wasn't the one to set you off. What I meant is I just don't want to put a lot of money into my raider, at the moment. If anyone else wants too, good for them. I enjoy looking at the pics of Ohiomikes bike.. it is fantastic. Keep those update mod pics coming. PS I like to mod too. Just won't happen as fast for me.
