i bought new chrome battery covers for my v star, and althogh there is only a few screws to change on the side without the battery i do not know how to change the locking mech. from one battery cover to the next. can anyone help.
I took a quick look at mine, just to be sure on this...
There's a nut on the inside of the cover that holds the lock mechanism in. Looks to me like if you remove the nut, the lock comes right out.
