I am not bashing HDs, just recalling what I saw yesterday afternoon.

Two Harleys pulled up next to me.
A man on one, a woman on the other. Hers had ape hangers. Looked nice (the bike). His handlebars were just as tall as hers, but he was running stock handlebars. He had a gigantic set of risers. I asked him how tall the risers were. 9" risers.

It was a little odd to see such a small handlebar, setting on top of those huge risers.

I can't complain. If everyone kept it stock, we'd all look the same.

Sure did look odd, though. Wish I had gotten a picture. I saw these 2 riders about 3 miles from home, so maybe I'll get another chance to get some pics. If I do, you know I'll post them here.

I always thought those high bars and ape hangers were harder to control until I put a set on a buddie's ride and took it for a few spins. Your control is amazing. One thing I found was that the wind howls up your sleeves and fills up the jacket.

I plan on raising mine one of these days. Figure about a 12" mini-ape or buckhorn style. Considering the cost of bars/cables, etc., it's gonna be a ways down the road.

there can be NO control with bars like that. I have 12" mini apes on my bike(where on when I bought it) and its a little squirrely at slow speeds.

My jacket has the "bat wings" in the arm pits, and in the cold weather, if your arms are up like that, you're gonna feel the chill. Leather, or not.

For me this guy suffer from lack of attention... he is a show off... you can tell that, notice the size of the pipes, bigger is better I don't think that's a confy ride.

That is too funny. I wonder if he has trouble with the metal plate in his head...

Still, it makes him look thin...

I have never understood ape hangers. I cannot see how he has any control with those. But! I'd dearly love to have what that bike cost him. I could probably buy myself a very nice trike. The Stallion maybe??
