Well I picked up my brother in laws old bike for 3k. Its a 2004 Vstar 1100 with 6200 miles on it (He bought a 2010 Harley) . Went for 130 mile ride yesterday and was really impressed on how it handled the back road curves. I added a back rest for my wife and some saddle bags.Looking forward to many miles on it.

thanks guys. He already added the windshield, front and rear fender chrome, air cleaner cover (has a eagle on it) billet fluid cover and some other stuff. Only thing else I want to add is chrome side covers front neck chrome and floorboards for the rear (for the wife).EDIT.. and a filter relocation kit.

wow...you got a sweet deal for only $3k. that's probably about what HD was going to offer him for a trade if even that. i hope you and the mrs. enjoy many miles and get many smiles together from your v-star.
the icing on the cake is, they are so low maintenance ....they just need gasoline, oil changes, air in the tires & occasionally new tires, and a bath once in a while.

ya, I guess it was the bother in law price. I bought it last monday and he got his harley wed. when we rode this weekend his new harley check engine light came on and it started running rough. 1st good ride he took and it has to go back to the shop. I offered his old one back for 4500. He just glarred at me .

You've got a great bike there! It's one of the best handling mid size cruisers you can buy....well balanced and with a few mods...can really crank out the performance.

Looking forward to seeing you around.

"I'll sell you your old bike back for $4500 ...". Nice! LOL

Welcome from WI, the land of 'Crawling with Harleys', where both my wife & I ride Stars, some of the most reliable bikes on the planet. You might find yuourself doing what we do ... carrying road-tools on our bikes to help other (HD) riders & never using them on our own bikes.

    Cheers,
    - JJ

You got a real nice bike there. I had a 1100 and had no problems with it. Rode some in higher alt and never had an issue. Nice that you have the relocation kit as I did not and that was a pain in butt to change the oil.
I think you will enjoy many many miles of riding on your bike. The 1100 is a great bike, and of curse you did get the brother in law rate. Good job there!
