It'll take some time to break in. They're all like that when their new. But, once it does, you should be very happy with it.

I put mine on and I was surprised to find it "hard" but I am relieved to hear it will break in and get "softer" That is if it ever stops raining in MA Only got one ride in this month

I remember thinking the same thing when I first sat on the Mustang seat, but thank God I put it on there. I had serious issues with the factory seat on anything longer than an hour ride. I've taken several rides this and last summer on the Mustang seat and my butt nor my back complains anymore.

How's the seating position compared to stock? I recall putting a mustang seat on my Virago and, although more comfortable, it raised the seat and sat me closer to the tank.

A Mustang seat will move you forward about 2 inches. It does not lift you higher though. If you don’t have engine guards on you can get a kit to move your boards and controls forward those 2 inches. If you got the bars on then you can put the Hwy pegs on. I have the engine guards on mine so I went with the pegs which work out great. Mine are set up so my heal actually rest on the end of my boards with my foot on the pegs. Very comfortable.

Cool! Got another question: Can I use Mustang's passenger seat along with the stock driver's seat on the Custom or do I have to pair both mustang's?

Personally, I don't really have a problem with the driver's seat. I find it comfortable enough but my wife won't even get on the passenger seat so I was hoping to only swap that out and not have to get a whole set up costing upwards of $400.

It won't work, you have to have both Mustangs. The passenger seat mounts entirely different to the driver's seat and overlaps the driver's seat to give you more back support. Go Mustang all the way. You will not be disappointed.

I have the Mustang 3 pc. set & love it. headed out for 2 long rides the next 10 days. Rumor has it that the Ultimate seat will work mix&match. In other words, the ultimate pass. pillion is supposed to work with the OEM rider seat. I;m sure those on here that have the Ultimate seat can better answer that question.

couple times i sat on a vstar with a mustang seat i didnt like it .but thats just me .pushes you towards the tank.
i dont like that feeling .befor anyone goes and drops big bucks on these seats i suggest you go to a few dealers and see if any bikes have a mustang seat (trade ins obviously)and sit on it and see how you like it .

it definitly puts you right at the tank.i dont like that.
check out the seats pcs offers at a fantastic price ,and i,m talking fantastic compared to what others get for seats .

yes i bought a pcs seat and the fitment is great .they use the stock seat pan and just reshape the foam and recover the seat .go check them out .the price cant be beat by nobody.

its a exchange system .thier seats dont put you up on the tank ,they put you down in the bike more giving you better leg to ground feeling .great for us short legged guys .
i,m sure mustang makes a great seat but i just dont like them.go see the pcs seats i think you will agree about fitment ,comfort and pricing .
and no i dont work for them ...lol..i just like thier seats.

Hey lorzpan , sorry to give you bad news, but I was looking at the Ultimate seat for my silverado . On the website it says ultimate and stock will mix on the classic and silverado but not on the custom. I ended up getting the mustang because I got it on sale. I did not care for the feel at first because it was different than what I was used to with the stock seat. But after giving it A chance I am very pleased . Last weekend I did A 200 mi. ride Sat. solo and A 150 mi. ride on Sun. with the wife on back. With no discomfort from the seat . Just the 105 + tempature.

Yeah, I saw that too. I agree with you on Mustang. I had a wide vintage for my 750 Virago that my wife and I absolutely loved. I mean, my wife literally has to fight the urge to sleep since it's so comfortable!

I guess my only options are to go with Mustang: Wide Vintage, Daytripper or Corbin. The other brands are nice but I can't get them in my country. The PCS one looks promising, however, shipping costs of sending my stock seat over to the US would be too much.

Anyway, that's my "nice to have" plan. What I'll probably end up doing is to get a pillion pad that's gel or some sort of air cushion. If my wife had her way, though, it's definitely Mustang.
