This is what I want to do to my Stock Custom 1100:

    PCS Monster Pro pipes
    Tornado Air Kit
    PCS Jet KIt

Ant thoughts comments? I am wondering about my choice of AIr Intake? I am avoiding a Hyper Charger because I live in troublesome spot already. Very Wet in the winter High elevation it will be hard to tune as is. So what so you guys thinks?

I'm not sure what year your bike is, or how mechanically inclined you are, but pods would be a option. They are hidden under your tank, protected from the weather and are extremely effective at unleashing the power your bike is robbed of by the stock intake. The installation of the pods also allows you to clean the bike up a bit in that you can remove the stock "dog bowl" and airbox assembly. Pods can be purchased in kit form from several vendors, or you can do a "D.I.Y." pod setup for a few less $$$. You will have to re jet the carbs, and possibly do a couple of other modifications to them if your bike is a '05 or newer. The end result is well worth it. Good luck!

Maxair engineering makes a nice one, my wife bought it for me for Christmas but I haven't installed it yet (too freakn cold out). The nicest part of a kit like is this is that they've done all the research and have jetting all dialed in. There are quite a few guys on the forum that have it installed.

I would also go through Shane if I were to purchase a kit. I bought the seperate componets and did my own (you will save $35.00-$50.00 +/- w/D.I.Y.). The parts are exactly the same if you do the D.I.Y. kit, but you will not have the excellent support of Shane. I know a lot of guys run the Maxair kits. Personally, I have read too many tuning horror stories to go that route. I think a lot of them are due to improper float adjustments myself, but still. There are no float adjustments to be made with Shanes kit or the D.I.Y. kits. There will need to be modificationd made to the carbs. of any selenoid equipped bikes (Cali.&'06 on models). I have done these mods. and they are really no big deal if you take your time. Good luck!

I live just west of where you live and the previous owner of my bike lives in Calgary. The issues you have about our location being a factor in your decision are mute. My bike ('06 1100 Classic) has a Hpyercharger and Cobra Drag pipes and the necessary rejetting. It runs great.

You must have not lived here long. If you check you will discover that this area is considered "semi-arid desert". The elevation is quite high but it's really dry here.
