    Hello,

I realize there is a difference of opinions about handlebars. However, I am putting on a set of T-Bars

    Specs:
    7 inch Risers
    8 inches of Pullback
Top Handle Bar is- 33 inches wide

My question is this. If installing this set of bars, will I need to obtain and install longer control/brake/electrical cables?

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

It's hard to say as your existing handle bar setup will take away some of the measurements of the new. Do some measuring of your setup now. Generally you can get away with a couple of inches each way and maintain existing cables. Good luck.

You will have extra slack with these bars. (At least I did when I had this type of setup on my 2002 Vstar 1100).

    Extra Slack will be nice.

Did you do the wiring through the bars or leave them external?

I plan on moving the choke to another location, eventually. I'd also like to move the starter button to some other place. Maybe I'll make a flipswitch and put it on the dash.

Thanks for the the info. I wasn't sure if I was going to have to buy new cables.

    Thanks again,

My wires were external. I didn't unhook any cables either. I just loosened the risers and took off the grips before slipping them on the new bars.

Now I need to look for some information on getting the controls off.

    Thanks
