Well, I had a brain fart and left the key in the ON position for about 40 minutes. When I saw what I had done, I fired it up and ran it around to get some air moving over it. I was more worried about the stator than anything.
So far, so good, say a prayer. I hate it when I do stuff like that.
No worries, the only thing that might happen is you might kill the battery.
I did this not too long ago. Thought I killed the battery since it wouldn't take a charge from my trickle charger. Took it into my local battery shop and they put it on the charger with crossed fingers. In the meantime, they located a replacement battery
It was over $200.00
Luckily, their charger got my old battery full of juice again.
I felt like an idiot!
$200.00
sounds awful high for a battery. Although I haven't had to get a battery for my V Star I have never paid more than $70.00 for a bike battery.
I'd shop around before I paid $200 for a battery. the new AGM batteries are a bit on the expensive side, but shouldn't be quite that high.
the OEM battery for this bike should be a GT14B-4 i would def. go with an OEM battery and they should be around $100-$120 at the dealer
