    Hi everyone!
I was trying to think what is the best way to clean your spokes?
When I wash my 1100 Custom I use a short brush and a sponge to clean the spokes, but I don't think it is the best way.

    Thanks,

    Larry

I'm not sure there is any other way...I use a soft wheel brush and a wash mitt. I rarely wash my bike, usually using spray detailer and microfiber cloth. But it's the only way to clean spokes that I know of.

i spray the spokes with a polish(i use "mr sheen" cos we can't get lemon pledge here) then get a shoe lace, rap it around the spoke once or twice, grab each end and pull back and forth. it's slow but works.

Try Maguiar's Spray and Wash for motorcycles. Just spray it on and let set for 15 seconds and rinse off. P.S. Works great on those hard to get at places also.

i spray the whole bike with simple green, hose off and dry with shop air or a leaf blower, twenty minutes tops and looks good

My bike is in the same state, so I think I've decided to just polish the rims and hubs, and go for that "Black Spoke" look.

Better yet, lets figure a way to make THIS work, and you won't have to worry about the friggin' spokes anymore!!!!! metalsportwheels.com/wheel.cfm?cat=364

those solids would probably take more polishing than the spokes

Yeah, but it would be flat surfaces to work with... wonder how well they do with potholes...

The solid wheels look good on some bikes.... A friend of mine had a HD Fat Boy with the solid wheels and told me the wind catches those wheels like a sail and push the bike in strong cross winds. Now I see HD has gone to small holes in the Fat Boy wheels. Something to consider. Actually I would like to get some custom mag wheels for my 1100 some day.

A good friend has solid wheels on his 1100.... says he notices the wind a little, but that it's not too bad.... looks great though. Check it out.

They make covers that look lie that, but you don't have to buy a whole new wheel. they even make them for the 650 with cut outs for the drum.
