Hey WLS460, here's the throttle control i've been considering. I like the cancel feature when the break lever is engaged. brakeawayproducts.com/productinfo.html

But I told him that "at my age I like a girl with a little experience!" Bill
Well it's about time someone recognized that about us "experienced women"!

Hey Bill, This is the right place to be if you're a bike-a-holic! But let me warn you about being a "forum-a-holic" . I'm still in recovery...and my life is more balanced now...

Re your wife, my husband bought his bike in Feb 2008 (after a 35 year riding hiatus) but didn't tell me til after he made the deposit. I gave him the usual "organ donor" response and was jealous watching all the attention and stroking he gave to that bike...UNTIL...I gave in and got on the bike. Well that first passenger ride was so boring, I decided I was getting my own bike....and the rest is history. My 950 is my first bike. So don't give up on your wife yet....

Any way’s I do hope that maybe someday she will try to enjoy something in life but after 25 years of marriage I have yet to see it. I am glad that you forgave the old man in your life and even went as far as taking the reins of a 950. So, I guess thier still maybe hope.
After 30 years of marriage and lately living "parallel separate" lives (I guess that happens after 30 years), I thought I can fight him on this and keep living they way we are or use as something for us to do together. Ironically I do most of my riding solo b/c he hasn't turned out to be a good mentor. But I'm glad he bought his bike, b/c now I have mine!

    Shebhertezz,

I'm sorry to hear that you too suffer the lack of enjoyment that having a loving spouse would provide. I mainly put up with it forsake of my children, but I know it's not Gods way.

Welcome from a couple hours west of you. I don't know about you, but I'm sure looking forward to the warming trend they're calling for this next week!

I think I got a lot more than the organ donor look. My son and his big mouth let the cat out of the bag on Valentine’s Day. I knew this when the flowers came flying back at me with the words "And when were you going to tell me about the d!@# bike!" Any way’s I do hope that maybe someday she will try to enjoy something in life but after 25 years of marriage I have yet to see it. I am glad that you forgave the old man in your life and even went as far as taking the reins of a 950. So, I guess thier still maybe hope. Ride-On and best wishes to all! Bill
make the most of it Bill, my wife was the same, now i can't get her off "my" bike. can't remember the last ride that wasn't 2-up!

Unfortunately I told the shop to deliver the bike on the 23rd of this month, but I did get the title today!

    Can't ride a title though

Becareful of the cinder that is still on the roads from the snowfalls and enjoy!

Well I'm still trying to stay positive about everything. You know for the dogs sake.
    Thanks for the encouraging words.

LOL! My kids are gone so now it's for the sake of my finances - and affording my bike!

I still have kids at home but their all grown and in college, their is the step daughter's son that we're raising. But he is close to her and has been in his room for now a period that seems like forever for treating me like shit.

    Wonder where that comes from???

Anyways, I think most of us in life have screwed up marriages. It's that opposites attract thing. So, if your reading this and you don't then consider yourself truly blessed.

Due to my past and the vows I made to God prevents me from the "D" word. Eventhough my pasture said God would understand.

Maybe it's foolish to keep holden on in hopes of the suttle return of the sweet girl I said "I do" to come back, but as long as I see a gleammer of hope...

What I mean is she did help me in cleaning out the garage in 40 degree weather to make room for the bike that is coming. So, you know things like that is what
inspires me to hang in there.

But, if the marriage was completely dead, then I don't think financial reason would stop me from having peace in my soul, but we all have to make and live with are own decisions in life.

I do wish you the best ...

    WLS460,
Well I ended up ordering the cam-lock throttle control rather than the breakaway one I had been considering. It seams a lot easier to install and the $ I saved will more than pay for the new iso grips I've been wanting as well. Thanks for the tip!

    earnmanfan960,

Yes the Breakaway is a little too high priced for me and the cam-lock throttle control appears to be very well constructed.

Still waitng for my bike - less than a week away now!

But I too will be ordering one, as soon as I know if my bike is style A or B.

Glad you could get those nice grips you've been wanting

    Ride Safe,

    Bill

I know buddy, but I'll tell you some days are just a little too hard to handle when the snow is flying and you have an addiction like ours!

    Thanks everyone for the shout.
