I am tying to permainently mount the Gerbing accessory plug on a 07 1100 custom. the kit comes with a nice plug, cover and threaded connection. Does anyone have an idea on where to mount this? it needs to be on the left side by the seat to make it accessible when i'm riding. they're aren't too mant panels to drill into.
i've seen some people mount the plug-in in the plastic next to the key or better yet on the other side.

I mounted mine under the tool pouch holder under the left side cover. Short fused wire to the battery and and out of harms way.
One guy with his exposed had someone run a screwdriver into it and blow the fuse. That is why I keep mine under the cover....
I think I'll run it through teh tool pouch cover. didn't want to gum up the pretty plastic cover, but in three yrs, i've never had this cover off, so it probably he best place. with the extra wire, i can easily remove the cover if needed and not have to disconnect the plug.
