just got done getting an actual gas milage reading on my 2001 V-Star 1100........................57 MPG
47mpg
42 last time checked
45 my best 2005 1100 classic
40-45, depending on how I ride.
for some reason, i cannot get more than 35 to 38 mpg...its frustrating when i see everyone getting 45 to 55 mpg...my bike has stock pipes and only thing I know of added is a perform ORK, medium windshield and saddle bags...its an 07 classic. talk about frustrating
bobster,
Miles per gallon depends on many factors. Do you ride with a passenger, do you ride lots of hilly terrain. Are you a big fellow? Have the bikes carbs been modified in anyway? Do you keep the air-filter clean?
I generally get around 45 to 50 miles per gallon when cruising down freeways and nice flat roads but when I go riding up in the big Pennsylvania hills that drops down to 40 or so.
very flat here in west texas. Im bout 285lbs. I dont know any mods to the bike. I bought it used from a yamaha dealer. I have spoken to the original owner and he said the ORK is the only mod he has done. I mainly ride 1 up 30 miles one way to work, mostly highway, bout 4 miles of in town. Ocacasionly the wife rides with me in evening or weekends but she normally rides her 650 vstar. Thanks for the help
Bobster......i know the feeling. I'm getting 35-40 depending on how i ride.
Cobra pipes, jet kit and k&n filter. It's a 2008 silverado, before the mods i was averaging 40-43.
2005 VStar 1100 Classic. About 44 mpg.
Just filled up again tonight. Mileage really dropped. I must be riding it much harder. Dropped to 38 mpg.
Just filled it up again tonight. Mileage back up. Can't really explain it cause I didn't drive it any differently. Back up to 45 mpg.
05 1100 classic i get about 38-40 mpg ... but have trouble staying off the throttle
47 again on this last tank, k&n filter with V and H slip ons.
and I am getting 40 on the nose.
2007 v-star custom, 51 MPG the last two fill ups.
I have an 08 and one week i got 42. the next i got 48. and one time I even got 38, one thing i figured out is that I don't get the tank completely full sometimes, and the next time I will and that makes my milleage different every time. here recently I've been keeping it under 65mph and I have been averaging 48.-
Just bought mine. 2004 1100 Classic. Previous owner says about 40 mpg. I am going to check it next week.

48.8
I run shell or chevron mid grade only and I get a pretty constant 45 46mpg That is riding 2 up mostly in the mountains of western North Carolina. Monster pro pipe stage 3 jets and thundercharger air kit 03 1100 Classic
First two tanks I was at 37-38 MPG. I've only gone solo thus far communting to and from work (50+ miles round trip). I thought it would be higher based on other posts. It's 90% highway riding and I keep it around 70-75 MPH. I don't consider myself a big guy either.... 5'10" and 200 lbs.
To my knowledge the bike is stock with the exception of Cobra pipes and carbs jetted.
