Do any of you folks have a problem turning your ignition key with your windshield bag installed?...Easy fix!...Use the top holes in your windshield side brackets and match them up to the bottom holes in the cross bracket...Marg the side brackets and drill them out using some thin sheet metal to protect windshield when drill comes through. Then all you have to do is follow the instructions that come with the Star windshield bag...You now will have plenty of room for the ignition key and I think it looks better...

The windshield bag mounts to the cross brace behind the windshield. This cross brace is bolted to the vertical upright windshield mounts with two bolts on each side one below the other.

Remove all 4 bolts and move the cross brace up. Mount the corssbrace's bottom holes on the vertical upright's top holes.

Now the cross brace top holes will be high and there are NO holes on the vertical pieces so you drill two holes one on each vertical brace to line up with the cross brace's top holes.

    Does this help??

One thing I'd like to ad is when you drill thru chrome there is the possibility of moisture getting in there and rusting this will bubble up chrome plating.

After you drill the hole take some clear fingernail polish and coat the hole and a little bit of the chrome. Let dry for an hour then bolt up. This will seal the metal and chrome to prevent moisture from getting behind the chrome.

Also if you need to loctite any bolts and run out of loctite fingernail polish works great as a thread locker.

I've got a windshield bag mounted to the crossbar of my windshield...but it's a generic one that I rigged up. I took a piece of aluminum and bolted it to the crossbar, then bolted the bag to it. It's just high enough I can slip my hand in to the switch.

Perhaps my setup is different than the yammie stock one if you're using a yammie windshield bag.
