First bike, so the first modifications have to start out slow, right?

So, I took off the rear pillion - I like the lines fo the bike much better this way. My wife isn't so thrilled since now she won't be able to ride it..but I can put the seat on & off in about 15 minutes, so it's not that big of a deal for the times when we want to take a trip.

Then, I removed all of the stickers. The "caution - read your manual!" sticker really aggravated me. So that's gone, as well as a few "Yamaha" stickers and the VStar1300 sticker that was on the air filter cover. I've got saddlebags, but the supports weren't in stock, so they're on order - should get those mounted in the next week.

    Here's a few pics:

Eentually I'm going to chop this baby out - I'm thinking swapping the OEM rear for a custom-built very small thin rear fender so the rear wheel is mostly exposed, getting a front fork with a sharper rake, and 13" apes, a set of short doolie pipes, followed by a custom paint job. I should have it all done the day after forever

Nice job. I don't think it will ever end...and therein lies the pleasure of the journey. Enjoy, off and on your ride.

I would start with taking the reflectors off and modifying the plate bracket all these simple mods are free.

Heres a link to the post about the plate mod.

Congratulations on the new bike. Got a couple questions. What year is your bike and what type of passenger pegs you got mounted?

The bike is a 2008. The passenger pegs are the stock pegs that came with the bike; I might remove them altogether, or possibly swap them out for some billet pegs, not sure.

I'd also like to get some forward controls. My size 13 dogs don't fit between the heal/toe on the floorboards too well.
