I have read several post about removing baffels in mufflers.
Has anyone had to rejet their carb.?
What effect did it have on preformance?
I have 05 1100 classic.
How often do most bikes need valves adjusted?
If you just remove the baffles and nothing else, you'll get lots of noise but no perfomance kick. The bike need a cetain amount of exhaust back pressure to function properly. Remove baffles, re-jet and open up the air box. I usually triple what the book calls for on valve adjustments.....$100 an hour gets pricey....
Like Jonezpoj said, All removing the baffles does is make the bike a little louder and more mellow. Rejetting should not be needed.
I did mine this past summer. I did not rejet, you SHOULDN'T have to rejet but it can't hurt to pull the plugs and check 'em to make sure you're not running too lean.
I did get some performance out of it, logic says you will, you're opening up the air system of the bike, therefore less back pressure, there for less resistance to pull the bike. Is the power up gonna make you scream a million miles an hour, no. But you will notice a slight difference on excelleration.
I'd recommend doing it, it sounds good, and if you like the look of the stock pipes, it's well worth it!!!

I pulled the rear baffles out of mine last summer and did not rejet.
no performance gain but the bike sounds much better.
I did notice that i twist the right grip a little more now that i have something to listen to.
