I searched and searched, and I could not find a company that could (or would) make a set of extended TEFLON-LINED throttle cables to fit my bike.
I am sure that I will regret what I did last night, but I am in the process of re-installing my OEM handlebars onto my bike.
My wiring has already been re-wired, to accomodate the taller apes (I'll just tuck them in, under the plastic neck collar). And I will keep the extended cables, so that I don't have to buy them again.
I just wanted to find a set of cables that would never need lubrication. One less thing to worry about. (I had a heck of a time trying to apply the lube to the Barnett cables.)
I did go to the local bike shop yesterday. I bought a different cable lubricator. Looks about the same as the old one. But the hole that you put the straw into seemed to allow the straw to enter a little further than the one that I bought from Barnett. I was able to get a little more lube into the cable housing, but I think that -
1.) I still didn't get enough onto the cable;
2.) I'd rather have the TEFLON cables, so that I could be sure that I would never have a lubrication problem.
Just give me a few weeks, and I'll be complaining about how I miss my apes.
I've always gotta be complainiing about something!
