What up, I'm fairly new to rideing and this forum as well, and definetly new to working on motorcycles. I'm from Illinois, currently liveing in Hawaii / Oahu rideing an 07 V-Star 1100 Classic

I'm lookin for some guidance along the lines of my new exhaust install. I don't belive I'm going to have a problem installing the pipes myself but I need to know what i have to do after the fact to get everything right. Do i need to rejet it, what exactly should I do with a new exhaust install. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm installing either Cobra Dragsters/speedster slashdowns or samson ripsaws; can't make my mind up!

Being that it's an "unbolt the old exhaust" and then "bolt on the new exhaust," it's really not at all difficult, but there's obviously more to it than just that. It can become a little tedious, therefore, do not attempt this when you're in a hurry to get it done. First, it will be most important to NOT scratch your new pipes. The other "be aware" topic involves being 100% certain you seat properly and fully the exhaust where it bolts to the engine. Otherwise, you'll end up with an almost undetectable exhaust leak that will cause excessive popping and possible backfiring when decelerating.

It's probably easier to just have you watch a nice video explaining the installation of the Cobra pipes on the V Star 1300. Go HERE. It's an excellent video from Cruiser Customizing that takes you thru that installation process. Installation instructions also can be downloaded directly from Cobra's web site.

    Good luck and stay well.
