On two different occasions her lately I've had my check engine light to come on shortly after cranking. It seems to come on when i rev the motor to warm it up and seems to cut off and on when the bike is rocked back and forth while sitting still. I turned th switch off and cHECKED the oil level and added a little oil and when i cranked it it did not come on again .then yesterday it did it again. The oil level is fine.So i dont think that is what it is.Ive read about the tp sensor causing this because the speedo is not registering while sitting still.[faulty tps???]Could the battery being low on charge after sitting 4 days cause this.Any info would help.I called the dealer and they said if it wasnt doing it when i brought it to them then they probably could not help.2007 1100 classic . Thanks

If it's the red light that comes on then there's really nothing to worry about as long as you verify that there is sufficient oil in the sight glass. I have an 07Classic also and get this sometimes. The red light is oil level only, not pressure. If it's the yellow light then I don't know.

I wonder if it could be a faulty wire, or a bad sensor. Those would be my guesses.

had a similar problem after staring and running for about 2 to 3 minutes. like you oil was fine so removed switch and tested on the bench as it is a float switch and while oil full is in the open position but when empty closes and light comes on so I then went looking for a faulty wire and found two faults 1 was the earth was faulty and 2 the active wire had a crack in the insulation . dont know wich one was at fault but fixed both and all is well. it has come on once since on a long ride in hot weather and it went off after bike cooled so I felt this could have been the active wire shortig as oil level was good but has not occurred again
