    From Webster’s dot com:

    n. Often Offensive Slang

Although I don't know anyone who takes offence to it.

    From Wikipedia:

The term Canuck is first recorded about 1835 as an Americanism, originally referring specifically to a French Canadian. This was probably the original meaning, though in Canada and other countries, "Canuck" refers to a Canadian

Then there is the NHL team in Vancouver called the Vancouver Canucks.

Of course back in the 70's and 80's the Canadian Men’s downhill ski team was referred to as The Crazy Canucks. The team consisted of Dave Irwin, Dave Murray, Steve Podborski and Ken Read. They "burst onto the scene of a European-dominated sport and quickly earned themselves a reputation for fast and seemingly reckless skiing - and also for winning."

The term Canuck is used here in Canada much like Aussie is used in Australia or Kiwi is used in New Zealand.
