Does anyone have a suggestion for improving the headlight on my 1300 Tourer? Much as it pains me to admit it, that is one place my Sportster surpassed my 1300 - the headlight was much brighter, and lit the road much further ahead of the bike than my 1300.

Use a Sylvainia Silver star H4 bulb and turn up the adjustment screw on the headlight. I did and holy crap it is nice and bright, I also have yammy passing lamps with Silver star H3 bulbs now I see the deer before they are on top of me.

Thanks, I appreciate it. The adjustment screw is the screw that "aims" the headlight?

OR put the sylvania superstar in, and put the pcs rear lowering kit in. voila'. instant headlight adjustment again...........

I concur. Just adding the silverstar bulb will GREATLY enhance the lighting!!!!! (been there, done that, on all my vehicles). 2 wheeled, OR 4.

Two thumbs up on Steve's method of bulb + lowering kit.......
    I did the same
Passing lamps may be in the cards for a winter project.

Jeez, guys, if my bike was any lower, I would be dragging mmy knuckles in the corners! Why would a person of average stature want to lower the bike? Wouldn't that also compromise the ability of the shocks to dampen bumps and stuff?

IN a word. No. The rear suspension works the same...........It's just LOWER.
I ride double ALL the time. I just 'recently', (like last week or so), moved the rear spring from 4 notches to 5. What a diff. No more bottoming out. (although I could stand to lose some weight). I'd mention that to momma too, but we all know where that'd get me (or wouldn't get me).

But seriously, I noticed NO diff in bike handling whatsoever after lowering mine.
(maybe it was because the progressive FRONT springs made it so much better besides)...................
