Question: I have a used 2004 V star 1100. The previous owner hadent replaced the battery in at least two years, and didnt have tender the last year it was stored without any riding. My question is this - how long does a typical battery last? In using my tender, the battery doesnt seem to lose much of a charge for weeks at a time. However, i notice that the my speedometer seems to fluctuate its "brightness" as i ride. Any thoughts on life of batteries?
sounds like weak charging system. just a quick thought.
i have had some motorcycle batterys last 7 years....i had a friend get 9 years out of a battery......b
