Bar movement

    Hi All. I have just fitted a raked front end from Morton Customs, i bought a set of new bushes for the bars as well, they seem to have quite a lot of movement in them. Has any one else experienced this & is there a fix ?

    where is the movement?..Triple trees or bar or...??? What kind of movement?

    I believe the Mortons trees need to use a HD style risers, the stock ones will not work. I called them once and that was the answer they gave me. The headlight may not mount up either. Other than that how does the new trees look. I have been wanting raked trees for 3 years now just cant get the money together.

    Hi, the movement is between the bars & the trees. How ever as i ride it more i dont seem to notice it as much.
    I have used the HD bushes as recomended by Mortons.

    I purchased a headlight at the same time, it is a bottom mounted & fits well.
    The normal light would not fit as you said, i also had to drill & tap the the botton tree to mount the brake slave cylinder.
    But still looks great.

    You said you are using the HD bushings but if you are using Yamaha risers that will not work. The O.D. of the Yamaha risers is smaller the the I.D. of the HD bushings. I have been down this road before with a customer who destroyed the stock bushings on a 1300 and replaced them with HD bushings. If you can take the upper tree to a HD shop and check the fitment of there risers. Or call Mortons, they are a bunch of great guys that will answer any question you have.

    Thanks, i am using non std risers as i had changed the bars previously.
    As i have been riding the bushes have bedded in & are now ok.

    Did a 300klm ride today through the mountains of SE QLD Bike handled excellent.

    Thanks man, that's a nice looking triple tree. How do you like those handlebars? Hey..are your risers curved forward?

    Thanks mick. I love the bars, the risers were the ones i had for the yamaha trees, when i put on the new ones the bars hit the tank, i turned them around and now they fit perfect, very comfortable position. What is the difference between the PCS rake kit & the one i have from mortons ?
